About Brač

It is the largest island in the Dalmatian archipelago with the highest peak of all Croatian islands (Vidova gora, 778 m high). The typical Mediterranean climate with about 2700 sunny hours per year and practically no industrial installations on the island (which means that pollution is at a minimum), makes this island an ideal holiday destination.

What to visit?

The island is well connected with ferry and catamaran lines with Split, and during summer months, approximately every hour one boat sails towards Brač. The town of Bol is one of the most famous destinations on the island, but places like Postira, Milna or Sumartin are equally as beautiful. The bay of Bobovišća, the Blaca desert and the village of Dol are hidden jewels of the Island of Brač.

1. The Blaca desert - a natural monument unique on the entire Croatian coast, which is considered a desert due to its scarce nature. At the begginig is a rocky renovated cave, and along the steep cliff there is a church and monastery.

2. Vidova gora - stretches in the area of Nerežišća and with a height of 778 m is the highest peak on the island of Brač. Because of its high altitude, Vidova gora is the perfect lookout from where you can see all the parts of the island of Brač and the Dalmatian coast.

3. The Museum of olive oil - shows the history of olive cultivation and the traditional production process cultivated on the island. There is also a tasting room with local island delicacies such as olives, jams, cheese, homemade olive oil and wine.

4. Near Sutivan - there is 12000 m2 of space in the pine forest called Nature Park, divided into a space for walking, playgrounds, animal lodging, a restaurant and a place for children's entertainment.

5. Traffic & parking - If you are planning to visit the island of Brač, you should expect crowd in the ferry port. Due to the large number of vehicles in the summer, it is harder to find a parking place in the centers of the towns of the island of Brač, so before leaving, make sure to check the location of all parking spots around the town where you want to go.
